Associations
Why to Establish Associations?
We are headquartered in
Shanghai, the most commercial city in China, to deal with direct investments,
mergers and acquisitions issues for our Chinese and foreign clients. We further
maintain an office in Beijing, the capital and decision-making place of China,
to deal with all prosecutions of intellectual property rights and facilitate
the face-to-face communication with the highest Chinese intellectual property
authorities and other highest level governmental authorities for applying for
various permissions, licenses and approvals for our foreign clients’ business
and operation in China. In addition, we have also established a liaison office
in Hong Kong so as to provide more convenience for our foreign clients and help
our Chinese clients to raise capital overseas markets.
Though we have made
presences in the most important commercial cities in China, however, in the
modern business environment, our clients’ business and presences extend to many
other jurisdictions, therefore, our clients’ legal needs are multiple and
diversified in the jurisdictions where they have a presence. In such occasions,
a law firm only in one jurisdiction can not satisfy and meet our clients’ legal
needs and requirements. The trend for a law firm to better serve its global
clients is to establish and maintain associations with law firms in other
jurisdictions as many as possible. Based on this motivation, we have
established many strategic associations and cooperation with various local and
overseas law firms for expanding and integrating any available resources
throughout China and around the world to meet and satisfy the legal needs of
our clients’ global business activities. These associations and cooperation
enable us to provide rapid, comprehensive, reliable and cost-effective legal
services and advices to our foreign clients.
Domestic Associations
We have maintained
close association relationships with well established local law firms in most
developed business centers throughout China, such as in Beijing, Shanghai,
Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Changsha, Chongqin, Zhejiang and Jiangsu Provinces, etc.
Those associated firms enable us to operate in developed cities as well as in
the remote locations throughout China efficiently and in real-time. Those
associations have also produced a rich accumulation of contacts in governmental
and legal circles throughout the country, thus facilitating our clients’
investment, mergers and acquisitions, and dispute resolution there and making
our legal service easily extend to those places.
In addition to
associations with local law firms, we have also established close associations
and cooperation with several local patent firms in Beijing and Shanghai so that we can efficiently assist our clients in filing applications for patents
with the State Intellectual Property Office through our associated patent
firms.
Oversea Association
Modern cross-border
transactions often require legal service go beyond the country, extending to
other world business centers where the transactions happen. Therefore we also
attach a great importance to establish association and cooperative
relationships with other international law firms, especially we have already
established and maintained close and reciprocal working relationships with some
intellectual property firms and law firms in America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Thanks to those association relationships, we have helped many foreign clients to
register trademarks and patents in China and also assisted many Chinese
enterprises and individuals in registering various trademarks and patents
worldwide. Based on those association relationships, we communicate and
exchange relevant information about the legal developments in China and in other jurisdictions with other international law firms. We summarize the
updated Chinese legal developments on intellectual property and commercial laws
into newsletters, China Legal Watch articles periodally and provide such
newsletters and articles to our foreign clients free of charge so as to keep
our clients updated of Chinese legal development and choose the best business
vehicles for their investments, mergers and acquisitions in China.
We are still expanding
our association relationships with domestic and international law firms as many
as possible. Foreign law firms and intellectual property firms are welcome to
contact us for establish such reciprocal association relationships. Through
those associations we can provide better and cost-effective legal services to
our foreign clients for their multiple and diversified business transactions
involving China.
